I was born in California in 1964, grew up in a small town in the central San Joaquin Valley, and have spent most of my life here. After graduating high school I went directly to technical school in Phoenix AZ., where I dean's listed three out of my four courses and graduated with perfect attendance.
While attending tech school I worked for "British Sports Car Service" as a mechanic in training, then after graduating I went to work as a mechanic at the local British dealership, while taking machine shop courses at the local college. I didn't like working under dashboards all that much but I loved the mechanical part of the cars so I found a job working for a machine shop, where they started me on crank grinding. After a few years I was running most all of the machines and assembling engines.
I am now the owner of that very same machine shop where I have been the sole machinist for  35+ years.
My first car purchase, was on my 16th birthday while coming home from the DMV with my new license, a 1960 Ford F-100. Three months later I bought my second car, a 1969 MGB-GT. The two constants in my love of automobiles has been British cars and old Ford trucks (with Y-Block V8s), what a combination. I also hold a private pilot certificate and have logged over 1500 hours of flying time, 400 in tail wheel, in the two airplanes I have owned and any others I could get my hands on.
